Plasmolifting (PRP)
Plasmolifting (PRP – platelet rich plasma) is a natural, minimally invasive and non-traumatic method of rejuvenation and shaping of tissue regeneration processes; it is harmless, as the injected substance is the “own product” of man; it is non-toxic and does not present rejection, allergic reactions or the possibility of infection.

How is Plasmolifting (PRP) used in dentistry?
The plasmolifting method involves the injection of autologous plasma into the inflamed areas of the gingiva, in areas where implants have been placed, in areas where sinus lifting has been performed, in post-extraction sockets, post periodontal treatments, but also as a method of maintenance and regeneration of inflamed tissues.
The procedure not only treats inflammatory processes in periodontal tissues, but can also lead to improvement of the color and structure of the gums, influence the restoration and development of bone tissue and prevent further bone loss.
Thrombocyte growth factors found in autologous plasma have a regenerative effect and promote the growth and development of blood capillaries, optimize hemodynamics, which contributes to tissue oxygenation and substance exchange.
At the same time, autologous plasma stimulates the process of regeneration of bone tissue, collagen matrix formation and bone regeneration through the participation of morphogenetic proteins. Local immunity is also activated.
Plasmolifting (PRP) idications in dentistry:
- Generalized periodontal disease (stages 1, 2 and 3)
- Treating gingivitis
- Treating localized periodontitis
- Treatment of post-extraction alveolitis
- Implantology operations and after dental extractions
- Periimplantitis
- Periodontal disease prophylaxis
The effects of treatment with autologous plasma start to be visible within 2 weeks.
Post-treatment results:
- Stop gum bleeding
- Periodontitis prophylaxis
- Decrease dentin mobility
- Pain relief
- Disappear unpleasant odor in the mouth
- Gingiva regains normal color and shape
- Increased speed of post-extraction healing
- Decreased risk of implant rejection

QUESTIONS / ANSWERS
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is an innovative treatment method used in regenerative medicine. It is a simple procedure in which blood plasma with an increased number of platelets is injected directly into the treated area of the body to promote healing. PRP treatment is a proven technique that is used safely and effectively for a variety of medical problems.
A complete PRP therapy includes 4 procedures 7-14 days apart.
- Immune system disorders
- Systemic blood disorders
- Pronounced ptosis (sagging) of the skin
- Infectious disease
- Exacerbation of a chronic disease
- Pustular skin lesions
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Madness
- Oncologic diseases
- Infectious diseases (acute respiratory infections, herpes)
- Menstruation at the time of the procedure
- Allergic reaction to an anticoagulant (sodium heparin, a drug that prevents the blood in the tube from clotting).
- Do not take any anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medications for a few days before the procedure. These include well-known medications like heparin and aspirin.
- Avoid undergoing other cosmetic procedures on the day of your PRP treatment.
- Refrain from consuming fatty, fried, and smoked foods, alcohol (including beer), and limit smoking to no more than 4-5 cigarettes per day.
- If the procedure is in the morning, you must come on an empty stomach (you can only drink water).
- If the procedure is in the afternoon or evening, you can eat low-fat dairy products, lean meat, fruits, and vegetables 2 hours before the procedure.
- It is essential to drink about 2 liters of water the day before and on the day of the procedure.
- Do not smoke on the day of the treatment.
40% of patients report a visible effect immediately after the treatment. The main result is visible after 1-2 days. PRP works cumulatively, so multiple treatments are needed, the number of which is determined by the PRP practitioner depending on the condition of the skin. The results last up to 2 years.
